LA Times reports that the state of California lacks doctors to meet the new demand mandated by Obamacare. Every so often, unknowingly, the state run media reports the truth.
The article quotes local village idiot Ed Hernandez who rules over the low information voters in West Covina actually admitting the first obvious failure of the central planners who are imposing Obamacare:
“We’re going to be mandating that every single person in this state have insurance,” said state Sen. Ed Hernandez (D-West Covina), chairman of the Senate Health Committee and leader of the effort to expand professional boundaries. “What good is it if they are going to have a health insurance card but no access to doctors?”
The article continues on about the hurdles that California faces, and reports that nearly 30% of California doctors are nearing retirement and it is unrealistic to train new doctors in time. I’d add that they haven’t even begun to figure out the number of doctors that will decide to opt out. I know from personal experience that my very own primary care doctor has decided to join the MDVIP network and close his primary care practice from 2500 to 450 patients. How many others will do the same? I asked him and he said that it will get bad because Doctors will not want to work for lower reimbursements and longer hours.
Regardless, the article mistakenly reports the improvement I mean solution to this problem, which is not to rethink Obamacare, but to lower the quality of your primary care.
They are working on proposals that would allow physician assistants to treat more patients and nurse practitioners to set up independent practices. Pharmacists and optometrists could act as primary care providers, diagnosing and managing some chronic illnesses, such as diabetes and high-blood pressure.
Obamacare is an absolute disaster. Your care will suffer. In fact, Obamacare is either absolute incompetence or shear planned evil to purposely destroy your health and watch you suffer. I mean seriously, imagine going to CVS pharmacy to see a pharmacy tech as your primary care provider instead of a Doctor?
This is for real folks. How do we get out of this hell?
